Jeffery Fowler reports his marriage, with no source info, to Susannah
Clemmons. It seems likely that this is a mistake, as there was a
Susannah Clemmons who was actually married to a different William Hunt,
son of Thomas and Mary Ann Beals Hunt. | HUNT, William (I547258042)

Jehu Engle, a farmer, was killed in a horse and wagon accident at home.
His wife, Anna Rebecca Quicksall, became a farmer managing the farm and
hiring men to do the farm work. All the children were born in Glendale,
New Jersey.
Retha Batten writes in an email on August 10, 1998:
I have been studying some of the hundreds of documents that were saved in
the attic of my parents' home. The first deed is 1813. The second is
1819. The many mortgages tell quite a story. In 1861, my grandfather,
Jehu, owed his mother Catherine Fowler Engle and his sister $8700.00. How
in the world, could a person pay off that kind of mortgage in 1861? My
grandmother, Anna Rebecca Quicksall Engle, managed to pay off her
deceased husband's mortages and had the farm free of debt. What a woman!
She became the farmer the same as her mother-in-law Catherine became the
farmer--or farm manager. | ENGLE, Jehu (I547257587)

Joseph Haines was born in Richard Diamond ship "Amity", Atlantic Ocean.
He died on either 9 Sept or 12 December 1763 in Nottingham, Chester,
Pennsylvania.
He was married to Dorothy Leeds on 14 Dec 1704 in Burlington NJ.
He was married to Elizabeth Thomas 2 jan 1722.
7 children was born of his first marriage to Dorothy Leeds, and 13

Joseph purchased 200 acres of land in Nottingham Twp., Burlington Co. NJ
in 1707. He and his wife were granted a certificate of removal by
Burlington Co. MM 4/5/1714 so that is most likely that they moved to West
Nottingham at that time. He took great interest in the community where he
lived, and at one time was justice of peace.
He purchased much land: 100 acres in Wolf Harbor, an additional 50 acres
of land next to his 200 acres in Nottingham, and he purchased Pleasent
Grove, 52 acres of land. | HAINES, Joseph (I547257965)

Judging by the birthdates of the two oldest children listed, it seems likely that William may have been married to someone else prior to his marriage to Mary Ann Hays. The Middle Spring book lists a marriage between William McCune and Polly Campbell on 3/31/1831, so perhaps that is the earlier wife and mother of the two oldest children. | Family F518391135
