  • Notes
    • "The Life of Ethelbert Nevin" states that John Williamson was born in 1704, "a cloth merchant of Dublin, but a Scot withal, claiming descent from a sister of William Wallace. He went to the Cumberland Valley in 1731, and married Mary (Wilson) Davison, a daughter of George Davison who had come from Ulster in 1717. The family had position and culture; and the elder son, ugh Williamson, took a wide career in the life of the young nation."
