Pinchot, Dolan said, slashed several veins in one wrist while visiting at the estate of William P. Eno, a relative by marriage. The hospital would not say whether his condition had improved since he was admitted.
The police chief said Pinchot had been in ill health and was mentally depressed and arrived here, accompanied by a nurse, last week. The nurse, hje related, became alarmed Tuesday night at Pinchot's long absence from his bedroon and went to look in the bathroom, but found the door locked. The door was forced and Pinchot was found in the bathroom. |
