CHALMERS CARTER REYNOLDS: a native of Rising Sun, Maryland, died at his home in Wilmington,
Delaware, on June 11, 1965, aged 81 years. He went to Wilmington in 1918 to supervise construction of the Philadelphia Pike, and served in the State Highway Department until his retirement in 1949. In September 1923 he was selected to be the first Superintendent of the State Highway Police, a post which he held for fifteen years. He was survived by his widow, Mrs. Helen J. Reynolds; one brother, Aaron L., of Elkton, and by one nephew, Capt. George Proctor, of the U. S. Army in Korea. Interment was in Riverview cemetery.
