Lester Bresse Dead
Succumbs to Heart Failure at Edgewood Sanitorium
Lester Bresee, son of Mrs. RObert Gouldsborough Keene and the late Edward Bresee, died at 9:30 o'clock yesterday morning at Edgewood Sanatorium, Bellona Avenue, Govans, of heart failure.
Mr. Bresee had been at the sanatorium three weeks suffering from a breakdown and was under the care of Dr. George W. DeHoff. He ha shown marked improvement, but a sudden change for the worse occurred during the past week and ended in his death.
Some years ago Mr. Bresee was prominent as a gentle man jockey and was often seen in the cross country and other races in the Green Spring Valley and the local tracks. He owned a string of horses, among them Top Notch, which he piloted to victory in thrilling contests. He was slight in stature during the days of his horsemanship, but in recent years took on flesh.
Mr. Bresee was 35 years old and during the past nine years of his life was prominently brought before the public in a number of escapades.
In 1902 he married Miss Minnie D. Vogeler of this city.
In 1912 Mrs Bresee secured a divorce and the custody of their child, a daughter.
