Du Pont Heiress Is Given Reno Divorce
Reno, Nev., Nov. 1 - Esther Du Pont Weir, daughter of Lammot Du Pont, president of the huge manufacturing company which bears the family name, yesterday charged Campbell Weir, her husband and a former clerk in a Du Pont plant, with mental cruelty and divrorced him.
The member of the great Du Pont industrial family's divorce complaint did not mention property, money or settlement.
Mrs. Weir's divorce brought the Du Pont name in to a Nevada divorce court for at least a sixth time. She married Weir, a young West Point graduate, at Christiana, Del., in 1928, when she was still in her teens. They have no children, according to the complaint.
Her father, chairman of the board of General Motors Corporation, ws divorced here March 31, 1933, by Charlene Hynson DuPont. PReviousle, teh marriages of Samuel and Frances Victor DuPont had been dissolved here. After that, Mrs. marguerite DuPont Ortiz Scott divorced Forrester H. Scott, Philadelphia attorney, and A. Felix DuPont divorced Mary Chichester DuPont of Wilmington, Del., in 1937.
