AMANDA CARTER REYNOLDS: widow of Barclay Reynolds, a former Sheriff of Cecil County, died at her home in this town on Monday morning, Feb. 7. Mrs. Reynolds was one of our oldest residents, being 84 years of age. She had been a great sufferer from heart trouble, and for the past two years had been compelled to spend all the time in a chair, being unable to lie down. She had hovered between life and death for hours and was in an unconscious state at the time of death of her son Howard Reynolds, the day previous to her passing away. Mrs. Reynolds was a daughter of the late Amor and Sophia Haines Carter, and was born at what was then called Village Green, Lancaster county, now known as Lee?s Bridge. One daughter, Mrs. Elmer Reynolds, of Barnsley, Pa., and two sons, Eugene A. Reynolds, of Philadelphia, and Barclay Reynolds of Wayne Pa., survive. The funeral was held on Thursday afternoon, the body being laid at rest beside that of her husband in West Nottingham Friends? burying ground, near town.
