Notes:
A meeting known as Hempfield was the fore-runner of Columbia Preparative and was first organized by Robert Barber, Samuel Blumston and John Wright. At that point, it had no higher meeting affiliation. In 1751, it became an indulged meeting under Lampeter Preparative and became known as Wright's Ferry Meeting. In 1758 a log meeting house was built on Union Street near Lane Avenue, which was replaced in 1812 by a small red brick meetinghouse at 312 Cherry Street. That year, a plot of land on the north side of Cherry between 6th and Bethel was also purchased. At the time of the Separation, the meetinghouse and grounds were retained by the Hicksite branch and remained in use until 1886 when the meeting was laid down by Sadsbury Monthly, The burial grounds were eventually sold to the Bethel Cemetery Association.
