Dear Mr. McFarland,

It is interesting to know that we have distant cousins so close as West Chester especially since my wife and I spent the summer working with Children's Country Week Camp at Paradise Farms between West Chester and Downingtown.

My genealogy runs something like this: Adam Heilig, Theophilus Heilig and Matthias Richard Heilig, who was my father and passed away last fall at the age of 90. I am very weak on family history, but I understand that the Old Stroud House in Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, which is now a museum, has many references to the Heilig family. It is the birthplace of my father, incidentally. The only remaining member of my part of the family is Jack Heilig, who resides in Maple Shade, New Jersey. He might know more about our forebears than I. He is a first cousin of mine.

Ah yes, are you aware of the Highley family on the West Chester area? I understand they derived from Heiligs. Lydia Highly was a class mate of mine at Swarthmore.
